You may be experiencing the news that you have just been diagnosed with prostate cancer and you need to begin doing your homework as to how to treat it.
Listen to your doctor and be sure to listen to your heart as well. God put it there for a reason. Only you know what is best for you.
Have a good Thursday.
Blessings,
Rick

Blue Cross Blue Shield News
This is from the June Newsletter of the Brotherhood of the Balloon.
The big story this month is the great news that Blue Cross Blue Shield
in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Illinois will continue reimbursing
for proton therapy for prostate cancer! They have canceled their
announced plans to stop reimbursing on June 1, 2009. This would never
have happened without a concerted effort by many in the proton field,
supported by a massive letter-writing campaign by BOB members in those
four states. The response by our membership was overwhelming. And after
the dust settled, one BCBS medical director indicated that, after what
he's learned, he would likely choose proton therapy if he were
diagnosed with prostate cancer."
Who says that people banning together can't create positive change?
Have a good Tuesday.

Rick

Chicago Magazine's Interest In Protons
I've been beating the proton beam therapy drum for all last week and I hope you will indulge me one more day. I promise, we'll talk about something else tomorrow.
Today I want to tell you about an opportunity that came to me two weeks ago.
I received a telephone call informing me of Chicago Magazine's interest in doing a feature article on Midwest Proton Radiotherapy Institute in Bloomington, Indiana, where I was treated in the summer of 2005. They want to include a former patient in the article and they called to ask if I would be interested in telling my experience.
Well, I told God a long time ago that if He provided an opportunity for me to be able to help someone else through the experiences that he has brought me through, that I'd go willingly to do that.
He provided. I'm walkin' with Him. And He has provided the opportunity to hopefully help someone who might be reading the article next month. So last week a writer called and interviewed me for over an hour and we'll have to wait to see what kind of article it will be.
I'll let you know more when I get more details.
Have a good Monday.
Blessings,
Rick
