I will be taking a few days off from my blog in order spend time with family as we gather to pay tribute to my mother-in-law who passed away today. She lived to enjoy 91 years of life and is now enjoying her Lord in Heaven.
I know about all of the mother-in-law slams that guys tell, but I have only good thoughts of mine. I often times told my wife that she is so blessed to have the mother she does. Although she was the matriarch of the family, she would look at that title as much too formal for her. She was a sweet spirit and will be greatly missed. We all called her grandma.
She has lived in our home for fourteen months and it has been a true honor to care for her. My own mother died ten years ago with Alzheimer’s disease and had forgotten who I was, so I wasn’t able to care for her like we have grandma.
I have learned over the years that life is just a series of adjustments and we will have to learn to adjust to life without her physical presence. We will see her again and we will all look forward to that time.
